Rick Boehms
Raised in Livonia, Rick was 15 years old when he began
playing music with friends.  He started out on a six string
guitar but switched to bass when no one else in the band
wanted to.

His early influences were the Doobie Brothers, Chicago,
Grand Funk Railroad and fellow musicians.

One of the early groups that Rick performed with was
Denny & The Robots who was headed up by Detroit's own
Marshall Crenshaw.  They would do stump the band
contests with their audiences which the band usually won.
It was amazing how many songs
Marshall Crenshaw knew
and was able to perform out of the blue.  Rick also
performed with other Detroit area groups
Ron & The
Sundowners, MR. DJ, Sound FX
to name a few. In 1977
he also had the pleasure of performing with
The Contours.
During his career, Rick also started a couple of his own
bands,
Starflight and After Five in which LEGEND The
Band's
drummer, Mike Stevens was also a member.

There was a grass roots protest movement going on in
1989 called
"The Tea Bag Revolution" which was about
Congress trying to pass huge pay raises to its members.
Rick had the pleasure of performing a song at
WXYT
Radio
in Detroit that had originally been recorded in his
studio.  The performance was aired nation wide on
"The
Today Show and CNN.

Rick's smooth rich vocals and energetic bass playing is a
terrific addition to the
LEGEND The Band line up.
"What I enjoy the most is the fun of being
part of a great sounding band and the
time on stage with great musical friends".
